Manga Artists Acquired Income From Pirated Copy

An electronic manga provider "Manga Library Z" has proposed an interesting business model for manga artists who have been damaged by pirated copy of their works. Manga Library Z conducted an experimental project in which they asked internet users to upload pirated copy of manga and made them freely available with advertisement on their website. They returned all of the advertisement revenue to the manga artists, e.g. some artist acquired 500 dollars in a month.

Such a model may save manga artists to some extent. However, my concern is that such a freemium model will reduce income of artists in total, because many people will not pay to read manga in a regular procedure when such a website becomes popular.
